What type of races do you enjoy?

Mountain Biking

What have been your 5 race highlights so far?

1) Coming in 2nd place at my first mountain bike race, Pick Your Poison 2014.
2)Completing the Snake Creek Gap TT, 17 mile race. Finishing 5th in my class, when my original goal was just to complete the race.
3)2nd place at Black Bear Rampage, 20 mile.
4)3rd place with Michael Long in a 6hr race, Oak Mountain Chain Buster. I seriously loved this course!
5)And sharing the podium with so many amazing women at every race!

What is a cycling dream of yours?

I dream about riding. Period. I love this sport and just happy to ride. But since we are talking about dreams, I would really enjoy a trip to Nepal.

What is your favorite place to be around Chattanooga?

If I am riding, Pinhotis. Other than that, I love this town and as long as the company is good so am I.

What has been your best moment on the bike so far this year?

In November and December, I decided to challenge myself by reaching a 100k feet climbing goal for the year. Some of my fellow Vixens joined in on the fun. Heather making my favorite moment with the #veronicamustclimb and making this a fun experience. I saw a huge increase in my fitness by applying this challenge. This goal was set so I could comfortably ride the Snake Creek Gap TT and not get completely destroyed, which worked. All said and done, I took around 40 mins off my pre-ride of the course.

What is the first cycling memory you have?

I recall asking my mom to teach me how to ride a bike and she looked at my brother and told him to, “take your sister outside and teach her”, so he did. I came home with bloody knees and a smile on my face.

What is your favorite piece of gear?

My Juliana, the whole bike. From the handle bars down to the wheel set.

Why do you like to ride & work-out with other women?

The company is amazing and the encouragement makes you try harder. I love riding with these ladies. There is no feeling better than clearing a rock section with your best gal friend at your side.

What has been your best moment with the Velo Vixens so far?

Being awarded most encouraging in 2013.

What’s your advice for a future Velo Vixen?

This club is whatever you want it to be. You can be extreme and start racing all the time. Or just join us on casual rides. It’s totally up to you and we are just happy to have your company!
