Road Running, Cyclocross
What have been your 5 race highlights so far?
- Chattanooga Half Marathon 2016 – crossing the finish line with Anne b/c we trained together for the race!
- Tri Columbus Duathlon – 2015, first full race I have trained for and completed for me, at my pace, and on my own!
- Cyclocross 2015 Season – Podium Race in TN
- Cyclocross 2014 Season – First Season racing any type of bikes! Podium at final race!!!!!
What is a cycling dream of yours?
Eventually, I would like to be able to ride 3 State 3 Mountain.
What is your favorite place to be around Chattanooga?
I love the trails at Enterprise South, to run or ride.
What has been your best moment on the bike so far this year?
I haven’t been on my bike too much this year, as I have been training for quite a few running races, but I would have to say taking my cross bike up to Enterprise and letting loose on the trails has been the most freeing feeling.
What is the first cycling memory you have?
I remember the feeling getting to the start line of my first cyclocross race. Up until that point, it had just been fun rides or practices. This was for real now. The nerves, the cheering….all these emotions that were then turned into adrenaline. Amazing!
Why do you like to ride & work-out with other women?
I love that when women work out together, whatever the sport, we can share our stories with each other and support one another all while being active! I hope to inspire other women to make their health a priority in the crazy busy lives we all lead!
What has been your best moment with the Velo Vixens so far?
So far, my best moment of being part of the Velo Vixens was cheering each other on during the Chattanooga Half. Seeing other members at the start line and high fiving them as we ran past each other. Showing support, regardless of pace/time, etc. Just women supporting women!
What is your favorite piece of Gear?
My favorite gear is my cyclocross bike, aka Rainbow Bright!!
What is your advice for a future Vixen?
My advice would be to just do what you love to do. The Vixens are so supportive of all sports and just of women being active so it’s great!!
