Triathlon, Road Running, Trail Running
What have been your 5 race highlights so far?
- The first time I ran a marathon, Chickamauga Marathon 2007.
- Qualifying to run the Boston Marathon at the Chickamauga Marathon 2009.
- Running the Boston Marathon in 2011.
- Ironman Chattanooga 2014 when I never dreamed I would do an Ironman
- River Gorge road race 2013, my first and maybe ever memorable finish at a bike race.

What is a cycling dream of yours?
Learning to mountain bike well enough to ride with my friends.
What is your favorite place to be around Chattanooga?
Stringers, because I can run there from my house and it’s beautiful, and it’s beautiful.
What has been your best moment on the bike so far this year?
Base miles with good friends.
What is the first cycling memory you have?
Trying to learn how to ride a road bike when I was first out of college. It was hard for me.
What is your favorite piece of gear?
My favorite piece is my running shoes, because no matter where I am, I can throw them in a suitcase and feel comfortable getting in a run pretty much anywhere.
Why do you like to ride & work-out with other women?
I like to have a diverse group of friends and other women motivate me.
What has been your best moment with the Velo Vixens so far?
Getting to know some fun new ladies.

Mindy also completed the Fall Creek Falls Trail Half Marathon on February 28th! Here’s her race report!
It was a great race. Lots of creek crossings, elevation, and off camber trails but not horribly technical most of the time. A lot of the trail was covered in leaves and not very distinguisable from the surrounding terrain. I think most of us ended up off the beaten path at one time or another. The people who put the race on were very nice and there were great snacks and hot dogs at the finish line. I’d certainly do it again. We had a fun group out there and the weather was beautiful!
