Where is your homebase, Rosa?
Chattanooga, TN
What type of races do you enjoy?
Mountain Biking
What have been your 5 race highlights so far?
Well, since I have only completed one race so far: does starting, finishing, and all 3 laps count as my 5?
What is a cycling dream of yours?
Being able to keep up with my husband! He has amazing bike handling skills, and it’s all I can do to keep up to the point of seeing the end of his dust trail.
What is your favorite place to be around Chattanooga?
I am still relatively new to the area, so I’m not sure I have nailed down a favorite yet. So far I am still in love with all that Chattanooga’s outdoors has to offer!
What has been your best moment on the bike so far this year?
Two things:
- Would be placing first in my first ever mountain bike race with Monica Desjardins.
- I finally made a drop off and a wooden obstacle that I have been too timid to try until just last week. It’s a great feeling to go for something you thought was going to be difficult, and it turns out to be no big deal.
What is the first cycling memory you have?
Bikes were a must in the house that I grew up in. I don’t remember ever not having one. My dad made sure of that. I remember my brother and I taking apart our BMX bikes just for the fun of it, and my dad teaching me to shift on the hills near our house when I got my first multi-speed mountain bike!
What is your favorite piece of gear? And Why?
Lately, with the cold weather, it has been my Specialized windbreaker jacket. It has made all the difference in what weather is ridable or not.
What has been your best moment with the Velo Vixens so far?
Joining. I am so glad I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful and talented women through the Velo Vixens.

Rosa and Monica taking the podium at Rosa’s first ever mountain bike race. The Taco Stand Classic.
